KFDA's Main tasks of year 2012

Good afternoon, my name is Sujin Kwak from International trade and statistics office.

I am here to announce KFDA's main tasks for 2012.

Reflecting the need for global safety management due to the surge in foreign trade such as KORUS FTA and increasing concern for the public health and life quality, KFDA announced its main tasks for 2012 based on the theme '24/7 more healthily, more safely'

Five Main priorities of year 2012 are
▲ Tightened risk-based preventive measures
▲ Enhancement of public assurance through preemptive response to vulnerable factors
▲ Enhancement of competitiveness of healthcare industries including advanced bio-industry
▲ Building public trust through communication and cooperation
▲ Positive response to future environmental changes in food and drug industry

Likewise, KFDA will focus on dealing with high-risk area while preemptively managing
daily vulnerable factors to enhance public safety assurance. It plans to do its best to reactively respond to future food and drug environment, improve competitiveness of health industry and build public trust through in-depth communication and cooperation.
